MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University Multicultural Center (MCC) is hosting its Casa Latina Cultural Center's 11th Annual Calle Murray from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, April 25, along Murray Street and the MCC Lawn.

This year's theme, "Adding Color in Dark Times," highlights the power of unity, belonging and community during challenging moments. The event is open to all WIU students, faculty, staff and community members, regardless of race, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability or age.

The event emphasizes community building by creating space for students to connect with their cultural identity and feel a strong sense of belonging on campus. Families attending alongside students can enjoy a variety of activities designed for all ages, making it a welcoming and inclusive experience for everyone.

Calle Murray showcases the vibrancy of traditional Latinx festivals through colorful décor, music and engagement in cultural activities. Attendees will experience an immersive environment that reflects the beauty, energy and richness of Latinx traditions.

The event aims to bring students, families and community members together to celebrate culture while fostering connection across differences.
