Spring Masterworks Concert April 17

MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a Spring Masterworks Concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 17, in the COFAC Recital Hall.
The program will feature the WIU Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Rich Cangro, performing Edward Elgar's "Nimrod from Enigma Variations" and Jennifer Higdon's "Blue Cathedral."
Brian J. Winnie will then conduct the Symphony Orchestra, Western Illinois University Singers and Concert Choir, Blackhawk College Chamber Singers, with soloists Melissa Chávez, soprano, Professor Terry Chasteen, tenor and Nicholas Miguel, baritone, to perform Franz Schubert's Mass No. 2 in G Major.
The program will include:
Nimrod from Variations on an Original Theme (Enigma), Op. 36 - Edward Elgar (1857-1934)
Blue Cathedral (‘00) - Jennifer Higdon (1962b)
