MACOMB, IL - -Joe Roselieb has been nominated and awarded the COAP employee of the Month for April 2026. Roselieb has recently gone above and beyond in his role as an assistant vice president in Student Success, assisting directly in the transition of the Quad Cities (QC) campus office locations. Roselieb has been driving weekly, often daily, to and from the QC campus to assist in the organization and movement of furniture, equipment and more from building to building.

"Joe took on the herculean task of coordinating the move of all furniture and equipment from two QC campus buildings to the Macomb campus to be distributed for immediate use by students, faculty and staff. This project could not have been completed in the needed timeline without his tireless efforts," his nominator said.

Roselieb's effort has greatly assisted Macomb campus community members in re-shaping and updating offices and student spaces across campus.

He is also now overseeing Building Service workers and has taken on this new responsibility with positivity. His guidance and organizational leadership skills will help with the continued efficiency of the facilities team across campus, as well as help campus leadership continue to reach fiscal goals.

As many know, Roselieb and his family are the proud "support family" of the WIU live mascot, Colonel Rock IV, a.k.a. Ray. With the incredible athletic seasons we have experienced this year, many additional mascot responsibilities have arisen. He and his family have worked tirelessly to ensure that Col. Rock IV is present at as many athletic events as possible. The uniqueness of having a live mascot has a tremendous effect on the WIU student-athletes and fans. Roselieb understands this impact and does not take it lightly. Since Col. Rock IV can't drive himself to events, Roselieb continually sacrifices personal time and resources to ensure that the mascot is present for as many events as possible.
He brings an incredible, silent and stoic leadership to WIU and is beyond deserving of this recognition.

The COAP Employee of the Month award aims to acknowledge exceptional performance by WIU employees who go above and beyond their regular duties, based on specific criteria. Nominations can come from supervisors, colleagues, faculty, students, staff or members of the community. The monthly winners receive a reserved parking space for one month and recognition from the University.

If you know of an employee who deserves recognition, nominations can be submitted at wiu.edu/human_resources/eom.
