Hammond Named April EOM For 2026

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL — Addison Hammond, a dedicated member of the Western Illinois University Undergraduate Admissions Processing team, has been recognized for her truly outstanding contributions to the Admissions office, demonstrating consistent enthusiasm, leadership as the Civil Service Employee of the Month for April and a strong commitment to student success.
During the department's peak season and the high-volume freshman application cycle, Hammond naturally stepped into key leadership-support roles, helping guide the team with clarity, optimism and steady support. Her presence has been described as uplifting to team morale, particularly during periods of heavy workload, where her positive and collaborative approach helps sustain focus and energy across the office.
Hammond consistently goes above and beyond in supporting colleagues at all levels, ensuring that every team member feels assisted and valued regardless of role or experience. Her proactive approach to teamwork has strengthened overall office efficiency and cohesion during especially demanding admissions cycles.
When application volumes increased significantly, Hammond prioritized both accuracy and timeliness, helping reduce processing delays and ensuring prospective students received prompt, reliable admissions decisions. Her attention to detail and commitment to quality work directly support a smooth and student-centered admissions experience.
In addition, Hammond has played an important role in identifying and addressing fraudulent applications, demonstrating a high level of diligence, integrity and responsibility. These efforts help protect University standards and reinforce trust in the admissions process.
Hammond exemplifies the WIU core values of integrity, positivity, quality and availability in her daily work, consistently contributing to both operational excellence and a supportive workplace environment.
As recipients of this recognition, she will receive a $100 stipend (before taxes), a plaque, a reserved parking space and formal recognition through a University press release. Her recognition will also be recorded as part of her personnel file and will be eligible for consideration for the Civil Service Employee of the Year Award in December.
The Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month Award recognizes Civil Service employees who demonstrate exceptional enthusiasm, effort and quality in job performance by going above and beyond their regular job duties.
