May 8, 2026
MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University plans to reduce the number of items on curbs during closing weeks through its partnership with Goodwill of Macomb, by offering students a convenient donation option for unwanted items.
Students may donate items either by dropping them off at Goodwill of Macomb or by placing them in a designated collection area in the residence halls. Goodwill of Macomb is located at 1522 E. Carroll St., Macomb, IL 61455, and is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
On-campus donation drop-off locations are available in the lobbies of Thompson, Corbin-Olson and Grote Halls. Items placed in these areas will be collected by Goodwill on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Accepted donations include new or gently used furniture, household items, microwaves, small appliances, kitchen and bathroom items (towels), good and clean clothing and accessories and blankets and comforters.
