Bruce John Biagini Obituary

MACOMB, IL - - Former Western Illinois University Legal Counsel and Ethics Officer Bruce John Biagini, 80, of Macomb, passed away peacefully Sunday, Aug. 2, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Biagini was born in Chicago on July 12, 1946, and earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Saint John's University in 1968 before receiving his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1971. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1972 and began a legal career spanning more than 50 years.
Throughout his distinguished career, Biagini served in the McDonough County State's Attorney's Office, was a partner in several local law firms and served as Macomb city attorney for 19 years. He also represented Western Illinois University as the University's legal counsel and Ethics Officer.
A devoted member of St. Paul Catholic Church and an active member of the Macomb community, Biagini was involved with the Macomb Rotary Club and the Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances "Fran" Biagini of Macomb; two sons, Jeffrey (Mary) Biagini of Lake Villa and Dr. Tim (Sydni) Biagini of Macomb; four grandchildren, Olivia, Baylor, Augustus and Tatum Biagini; two brothers, Brian (Denise) Biagini of Huntley and Barry Biagini of Macomb; and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 10, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Macomb. Visitation will be held from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, the WIU Foundation or the McDonough County Humane Society.
