WIU Art Gallery to Showcase Mayuko Ono Gray's "This Too, Shall Pass"

MACOMB, IL - - Houston based artist Mayuko Ono Gray will have her solo exhibition, "This Too, Shall Pass" on display at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery from Monday, Aug. 24 through Friday, Sept. 25.
A reception for Ono Gray will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 where the artist will speak about her work at 5 p.m.
Ono Gray is an artist based in Houston, TX, whose primary medium is graphite drawing. Born in Japan, she trained in traditional Japanese calligraphy in her youth and later studied classical Western drawing. Ono Gray moved to the U.S. following high school and went on to receive her MFA in Painting from the University of Houston in 2007. Her work has been exhibited extensively in the U.S. and abroad, including exhibitions in Japan, Mexico, Germany, Italy, UK, Greece and Canada. Her works are represented by Hooks-Epstein galleries in Houston and by Galería 910 in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Admission is open free to the public. Parking will be allowed near the gallery starting at 4 p.m. on the day of the reception.
