New RecRe Box Coming to the University Union in Fall 2026

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University students will soon have a new way to relax, recharge, have fun and connect with friends in the University Union. New for Fall 2026, the RecRe Box will provide students with free access to a variety of recreational and convenience items.

The RecRe Box will be located outside The Neck in the Union basement, making it an easy and convenient resource for students looking to borrow items while spending time in the Union.

Through the RecRe Box, students can rent items such as pool sticks and balls, board games, speakers, phone and device chargers and more recreational and convenience items. All rentals are completely free for WIU students with a student ID.

The initiative is designed to make it easier for students to take advantage of the Union as a place to unwind and socialize between classes.

Whether you're looking to challenge your friends to a game of pool, play a board game, charge your phone or enjoy some music, the RecRe Box is designed to make it easier for students to take advantage of fun and useful resources right in the University Union.
