WIU Announces Fall 2026 Career and Internship Fairs

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL — Western Illinois University's Center for Career Preparation and Employer Engagement and academic departments will host a series of Career and Internship Fairs during the Fall 2026 semester, providing students with opportunities to connect with employers, explore career paths and secure internships and full-time positions.

"In-person career fairs provide the perfect opportunity for students and alumni to connect with employers and showcase the career-ready skills they have gained at WIU," Audrey Adamson, WIU executive director, Career Readiness and Workforce Development said.

The Fall 2026 Career and Internship Fairs will begin with the WIU Public Safety Career Fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at the University Union in Macomb. The event will connect students interested in public safety careers with employers and organizations seeking qualified candidates.

From 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, WIU will participate in QC EXPO '26, sponsored by The Quad Cities' Colleges, at The Bend XPO in East Moline. The event will bring together employers and students from across the Quad Cities region.

The WIU Business Career Fair will take place from 1-4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at the University Union in Macomb. The event will provide students interested in business-related careers with opportunities to meet employers and explore internships and career opportunities.

The WIU Agriculture Career Fair will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 5, at the University Union in Macomb, connecting students pursuing agriculture-related careers with industry employers.

The Fall 2026 series will conclude with the WIU All-Major Career and Internship Fair from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, at the University Union in Macomb. The event is open to students from all academic majors and will feature employers representing a variety of industries and career opportunities.

"A career and internship fair is a tremendous opportunity for all students, from freshmen who are just beginning to explore their options to seniors preparing to enter the workforce. These fairs connect students with employers and help them learn about the many different jobs and career paths that might be available," Mandi McRaven, WIU Career Center director said.

Students are encouraged to prepare in advance by registering through Handshake, where additional event details and participating employers will be posted.
