WIU Receives $18,000 Grant From Dot Foods Charitable Foundation

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL. — Western Illinois University has received an $18,000 grant from the Dot Foods Charitable Foundation to support food purchases for the University's food pantry.

The grant includes $4,500 in cash and $13,500 in store credit at Dorothy's Market, providing additional resources to help stock the food pantry and support students experiencing food insecurity.

The Dot Foods Charitable Foundation provides funding to organizations working to improve the communities they serve. The grant will help WIU provide food and essential resources to students who rely on the University's food pantry.

"DOT Foods is an amazing organization and has continuously supported the WIU Food Pantry. Together we are fighting food insecurity, one student at a time," Emily Shupe, WIU professor of Health and Wellness Services said.

The DOT Foods Charitable Foundation Grant includes store credit to Dorothy's Market, allowing the WIU Food Pantry to secure food through the market for one year.
