WIU Art Gallery to Feature Anders Johnson’s “Sea Legs” Exhibition

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Art Gallery will present "Sea Legs," a solo exhibition by Kentucky-based artist and educator Anders Johnson, Tuesday, Oct. 6 through Thursday, Nov. 12.

An artist reception will be held 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12. Johnson will speak about his work at 5 p.m.
Johnson is an artist and educator based in Bowling Green, KY. He earned a bachelor of Arts degree from North Park University and a master of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University. He currently serves as an assistant professor of art and foundations at Western Kentucky University.

His recent solo exhibitions include shows at the Tom Thomas Gallery at IU East in Richmond, IN, and the Red Brick Center for the Arts in Aspen, Colorado. Johnson has also participated in group exhibitions at Warnes Contemporary in Brooklyn, New York; Indy Art Center in Indianapolis, Indiana; and Buckham Gallery in Flint, Michigan, among others.

Johnson's work has been featured in New American Paintings and on the Studio Break Podcast.
The exhibition will be on view at the WIU University Art Gallery in Macomb. Parking will be available near the gallery beginning at 4 p.m. on the day of the reception.
The exhibition and reception are open free to the public.
