WIU Alum Joins Brother on The Amazing Race

MACOMB, IL - - A Western Illinois University alumna will be on your television screens when Jaime Tribo and her brother, Cody Langlois, begin their journey on the CBS competition series The Amazing Race when the two-night premiere begins at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30 on CBS.

Tribo, a 2015 graduate in Family and Consumer Sciences, said being on the show is something her mom encouraged them to try.

"This experience actually happened last fall, but it's been years in the making! My brother and I applied a few years ago because The Amazing Race is our mom's favorite show, and she always told us that we would be great on it," Tribo said. "She's a single mom who raised four kids, so when she encouraged us to apply, we thought, ‘Why not?'"

Tribo said her and her brother still argue like any siblings, but they couldn't imagine going on this journey with anybody else.

"We're in our thirties, but somehow we can still argue over who gets ‘shotgun,' whose turn it is to do the laundry in the hotel room, or any other ridiculous sibling disagreement," Tribo said. "But at the end of the day, we're family—and that means we always have each other's backs. I have a Master's degree in Nutrition but I would also like to say I have a Masters degree in roasting my brother…but I joke that it's only OK when I do it!"
