Downing Named COAP EOM For October

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - The Council of Administrative Personnel (COAP) Employee of the Month for October is Patrick Downing, Development director in University Advancement/Foundation. Downing's nominator is pleased to nominate him in recognition of his outstanding dedication, professionalism and contributions to WIU.
Downing goes above and beyond in his role, demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence. He is dependable and responsive and he approaches his work with a positive and collaborative attitude. He is always willing to assist colleagues, take on additional responsibilities and find solutions when challenges arise. He has worked with his nominator specifically on fundraising through grants and corporations with the Goldfarb Center for the Performing Arts, as well as in other areas of collaboration.
Downing is especially distinguished by the positive impact he has had in helping to open and sustain the Goldfarb Center for the Performing Arts through fundraising. His willingness to collaborate, support others and contribute to a welcoming and productive work environment makes him a valued member of the team. He demonstrates initiative and takes pride in ensuring that his work is completed thoughtfully and effectively.
Through his dedication and commitment, Downing contributes not only to the success of his department, but also to the broader mission of the WIU and the WIU Foundation.
Another colleague of his attributed the fundraising success enjoyed by the Goldfarb Center for Performing Arts directly to his professionalism and dogged pursuit of excellence. He is an integral member of the Goldfarb Center team and we rely on his efforts daily. His ability to effectively steward longtime friends of WIU as well as engage with and cultivate new relationships on behalf of the university is a critical component of the WIU Foundation's success.
The COAP Employee of the Month award recognizes exceptional performance by WIU employees who go above and beyond their regular duties, based on specific criteria. Nominations can come from supervisors, colleagues, faculty, students, staff, or members of the community. Monthly winners receive a reserved parking space for one month and recognition from the university.
