Forgottonia Chamber Music Festival to Bring Adult Amateur Musicians Together in Macomb
October 20, 2026
MACOMB, IL - - Adult amateur musicians from across Western Illinois and the surrounding region are invited to participate in the Forgottonia Chamber Music Festival, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12 and 13, at various locations throughout Macomb.
Organized by the contemporary woodwind quintet Cirrus Blue and guest artists, the two-day festival will offer participants opportunities to develop their musical skills, explore chamber music repertoire, perform, and build connections with fellow musicians in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Throughout the weekend, participants will take part in coaching sessions led by members of Cirrus Blue and other guest artists. The sessions are designed to help ensembles strengthen their musical abilities, improve collaboration, and grow in confidence while fostering an encouraging learning atmosphere.
The festival will also feature performances by Cirrus Blue, guest artists, and participating musicians. Although participants are encouraged to perform in the festival recitals, performing is entirely optional, allowing musicians to engage with the event at their own comfort level.
Beyond rehearsals and performances, the festival will provide opportunities for social interaction and networking. Through shared meals, social gatherings, and informal conversations, participants can establish friendships, discover new ensemble partners, and connect with others who share a passion for music.
Designed specifically for adult amateur musicians, the festival welcomes participants without requiring an audition. The organizers aim to create an inclusive experience where musicians of different backgrounds and experience levels can learn, collaborate, and celebrate their shared love of chamber music.
Registration costs $30, and need-based scholarships are available to help make participation accessible to musicians who require financial assistance.
