MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University, in partnership with Samaritan Well, Inc. and the WIU College Food Pantry, will host a Mobile Food Pantry at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Western Hall.

The Mobile Food Pantry is designed to provide food assistance to members of the community and the WIU campus population. Registration will take place from 9:30 to 10 a.m., with food distribution starting at 10 a.m.

Food for the event is provided through the River Bend Food Bank. The Mobile Food Pantry will operate as a drive-up distribution event, with vehicles forming a line through Q Lot and volunteers loading food directly into participants' cars. Participants without a vehicle are also welcome to receive food through a walk-up option and are encouraged to bring something to help transport food items, such as a laundry basket or other containers to transport items. Distribution will be held outdoors, and participants are asked to arrive no more than 30 minutes before the distribution begins. The distribution process may take up to one hour.

The Mobile Food Pantry is part of WIU's ongoing efforts to address food insecurity and is made possible through the support of volunteers and community partners dedicated to serving students and residents across the region.

Community members and members of the WIU campus community are encouraged to attend.
