WIU CSEC and COAP Partner with Toys for Tots for Holiday Toy Drive
October 30, 2026
MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Civil Service Employee Council (CSEC) and the Council of Administrative Personnel (COAP) are partnering to collect donations for Toys for Tots this holiday season to help local families in need.
Donation boxes will be available from Thursday, Oct. 29 through Monday, Dec. 14 on the first floor of Sherman Hall, Stipes Hall and Western Hall, as well as the Wright House. All donated toys will benefit Toys for Tots of West Central Illinois, supporting children and families throughout the local community.
"CSEC and COAP are excited to partner with Toys for Tots for McDonough County families because this is such a needed and wonderful program," CSEC President Natalie Divan said. "We are excited to partner again to support local children. New this year is a local distribution in Macomb and we anticipate even more local families participating."
The Toys for Tots program collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them to economically disadvantaged children during the holiday season. Since its founding in 1947, the program has distributed millions of toys to children across the United States.
Each year, local toy collection campaigns are conducted in communities nationwide. Donated toys are gathered, sorted and distributed with assistance from local social service agencies, churches and community organizations to ensure they reach families in need during the Christmas season.
The toy drive reflects WIU employees' continued commitment to community engagement and service, providing opportunities for the campus community to make a positive impact on local families during the holidays.
