Independent Film Maker to Discuss Movies for Magliocco Lecture

MACOMB, IL - - As part of the Magliocco Lecture Series, professor and independent film maker Michelle Citron will screen a selection of her short films at 6 p.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 14 in the Western Illinois University Union Sandburg Theatre.

Citron will also present the lecture, "Border Crossings: Documentary/Fiction, Linear/Interactive, Film/Digital," discussing her movies. A reception will follow in the Union Capitol Room.

The Maurine Magliocco Lecture Series for the English department was established in 2006. The $30,000 endowment supports an annual lecture in literature, film, theory or the state of the discipline.

The event, which is open free to the public, is sponsored by Western's English and journalism department, College of Arts and Sciences and broadcasting department.
