MACOMB, IL -- Skeletons, vampires, witches and an assortment of ghosts, ghouls and goblins will take over Western Illinois University residence halls for the annual safe trick-or-treating event Thursday, Oct. 29.

Children, ages two to 12, are invited to ask for treats at nine WIU residence halls. Guides will be provided through the residence halls; however, all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The schedule is as follows:

North Quad:
Tanner Hall: 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Bayliss/Henninger Halls: 6-7:30 p.m.

West Quad:
Higgins Hall: 5:30-7 p.m.
Thompson Hall: 6-8 p.m.

South Campus:
Corbin Hall: 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Lincoln/Washington/Grote Halls: 7-8 p.m.

"This is a great way for kids to trick-or-treat in a safe environment; parents don't have to worry about traffic or bad weather," said Tera Monroe, associate director of residence life and facilities at Western. "One of the missions of the residence halls is to be involved in the Macomb community and provide service to our area. Our students love seeing the children and sharing Halloween activities with them."
