Comic Josh Blue Performs Tonight March 4
March 4, 2010
MACOMB, IL - - Comedian Josh Blue, winner of Last Comic Standing, will treat the Western Illinois University student body and area fans to a night of laughs tonight Thursday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 4 in the University Union Heritage Room.
In addition to performing to sold out crowds, Blue is a talented artist and a gifted U.S. Paralympic soccer player. He lives with Cerebral Palsy, and he jokes: "I realize that people are going to stare so I want to give them something to stare at."
Blue uses self-deprecating humor to encourage others to overcome their preconceived notions about people who are considered disabled. He also provides hilarious views on everyday observations. He won the 2002 Comedy Works New Talent Search, the Las Vegas Royal Flush Professional Comedy Contest (2004) and in 2006 he became the first standup to perform on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The show, which is presented by Western's Bureau of Cultural Affairs and the University Union Board, is free to WIU students when they show their ID at the door. Tickets for the public, $15, can be purchased at the Hainline Box Office, (309) 298-2900, or at the door.
