Postgame notes from Western's last outing against Oakland

* Western Illinois' victory marked just the third time in Summit League history that a No. 7 seed has upset a No. 2 seed in the quarterfinal round. All three occurrences have come in the past six seasons. UMKC was the winner in both games, knocking off Valparaiso, 59-49 in 2005, and Western Illinois, 62-55, in 2008.

* Western Illinois' win was their first victory in The Summit League Tournament since 2006.

* Oakland's loss marked its earliest exit from the field since 2004, when the fourth-seeded Golden Grizzlies fell to fifth-seeded Oral Roberts, 57-49, in the quarterfinals.

* Western Illinois' Anne Borgertpoepping's 20 points tied her career-high and Anneloes Kodde's 13 points marked a career-high.

* The Fighting Leathernecks shot a season-high 44.1 percent in the game.

* WIU scored 60-plus points against Oakland for the first time this season after being held to under 50 points in both regular season meetings.

* Oakland shot 30 percent, a season-low against a Summit League opponent this season.

* After beginning the game on an 8-0 run, Oakland was held without a field goal for the final 3:28 of the contest
