Interview Set: Assoc. Provost (Budget, Planning, Personnel & Technology)

MACOMB, IL -- Kathleen Neumann, interim associate provost for budget, planning, and personnel, will interview Thursday, May 10 for the Western Illinois University associate provost for budget, planning, personnel and technology position.

A session for faculty governance groups will be held from 10-11 a.m. in the University Union Cardinal Oak Room and an open session for the campus community will be held from noon-1 p.m. in the Cardinal Oak Room.

Neumann has served as interim associate provost since July 1, 2011. She joined the WIU faculty in 1995 as an assistant professor in computer science and was named a full professor in August 2005. She was named chair of the computer science department in December 2000 (the department became the School of Computer Sciences in Fall 2010). Neumann received her bachelor's and master's degrees from WIU, and her Ph.D. from Northwestern University.

The associate provost for budget, planning, personnel and technology is the contract administrator for the University and has primary responsibility for the administration of the collective bargaining agreement, and serves as the University grievance officer and the University Research Council chair. The associate provost for budget, planning, personnel and technology is responsible for the academic affairs budget, academic planning, academic personnel, academic facilities and technology within academic affairs.
