Transfer Purple and Gold Scholarships 2027-28

Purple and Gold Engagement scholarships are a one-time tuition waiver of up to $1,000 to incoming transfer students who attend an official on-campus admissions event and enroll at WIU within one year of the campus visit.

What are the requirements?

  • Incoming transfer student.
  • Attend an on-campus official admission event one year prior to your your first semester at WIU.
  • Submit a current year FAFSA or Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid with WIU as a school choice prior to the start of the semester of award.
  • Enroll full-time in WIU undergraduate courses (requires continuous enrollment in fall and spring semesters each year).

What else do I need to know?

  • Scholarships will be disbursed in equal amounts between the fall and spring semesters.
  • Total financial aid and scholarships cannot exceed the cost of attendance for Western Illinois University (tuition, fees, on-campus housing, dining) and no refunds will be given.
  • Awarding concludes when funds are exhausted.
  • Available for domestic students only.
  • This scholarship is not renewable. It is for one year only.

Priority Deadline to Apply for Admission and Register for Classes

  • For  summer/fall 2027, the transfer priority deadline to apply for admission is August 1, 2027. Transfers must register for classes by August 15, 2027.
  • For  spring 2027, the transfer priority deadline to apply for admission is January 1, 2027. Transfers must register for classes by January 15, 2027.
  • For spring 2028, the transfer priority deadline to apply for admission is January 1, 2028. Transfers must register for classes by January 15, 2028.
