The Guaranteed Admissions Program (GAP) offers the opportunity for students who are transferring from an accredited institution guaranteed admission to Western Illinois University to complete their bachelor's degree. Students must meet the GAP requirements to be eligible for the program and also sign a participation agreement.

Who can join GAP?

  • Current transfer students who are interested in transferring to WIU.
  • Current high school students who plan to transfer to WIU after attending a community college.

Why be a part of GAP?

  • This program allows transfer students to stay on top of their transfer experience from the very beginning.
  • Admissions counselors work closely with GAP students to help with the full transfer experience. Students in GAP can request assistance with how credits will be transferred.
  • This program is ideal for community college transfer students who are looking to attend WIU. We will also work with students who are transferring from any institution.

GAP Program Requirements:

Western Illinois University agrees to admit qualified transfer students. Students must meet all admissions requirements at the time of admissions application. You can apply to WIU up to a year in advance.
