Thank you for your interest in the Family Day BBQ Competition & Tasting. Please complete the registration form below, and a committee member will be in touch with you shortly. For immediate questions, please contact pigout@wiu.edu.
The 8th Annual Family Day BBQ will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2025, from 2pm-5pm in Q Lot. Teams can set up the day before (Friday, September 18th), and need to be at the rules meeting on September 18, 2025, where we will go over information (rules, turn-in times, etc) and hand out a predetermined amount of meat (based on your capacity).
We provide both brisket and ribs for you to smoke as part of the competition and tasting. We ask that each team provide a 'people's choice' item of your choosing. We're happy to discuss past items to provide an idea! Your registration does come with some event shirts, and we also provide electricity for teams out in Q Lot. We usually get a large crowd as this is typically our first home football game of the season, generally around 2,000 people!
