Communication Minor

comm minor

The Department of Communication offers a Communication minor at both the Quad Cities and Macomb campuses. A minor in Communication will complement numerous existing majors, as understanding strategies of communication is one of the greatest assets that one can have in virtually every career. The communication minor will provide knowledge and training that would enhance a variety of careers, such as sales, public relations, advertising, personnel, human resources, education, training, and management, just to name a few.

Some examples of majors that would be complemented by a Communication minor include:

  • English majors who are interested in rhetorical perspectives on literature
  • Psychology and Sociology majors who believe that communication is central to their work
  • Science majors who need to know how to present their ideas effectively for both science and non-science audiences
  • Business majors who will work in groups and teams
