Stacey Macchi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at Western Illinois University. She serves as Honors Coordinator, Internship Coordinator and Chair of Career Preparation Day for the Communication Department. Stacey Macchi received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Honors) and Political Science from Western Illinois University in 2001 and a Master of Arts in Communication from Western Illinois University in 2003. Her primary areas of teaching include Introduction to Communication (First Year Experience, online, honors and regular sections), Public Speaking (online, honors and regular sections), Professional Presentations, Small Groups, Argumentation and Debate, Great Speeches, COFAC GH 299, Intercultural Communication, Risk and Crisis Communication, and Interviewing (online and regular sections).

She has presented a number of professional papers at regional and state communication associations, regularly conducts workshops around the country and received recognition as one of the top ten overall submissions in the G.I.F.T.S. category at the National Communication Association in 2010. In 2018 she received the College of Fine Arts and Communication Excellence in Teaching Award as well as the First Year Experience Instructor of the Year Award.
