Sue Forman

Building Service Worker
Facilities Management-Building Services

"Stay positive! Try to see the good in everything. There is always someone who has it worse than you."

Sue began her career at Western Illinois University in March 2000 as a Building Service Worker and continues in that position, currently. Sue is responsible for cleaning the buildings assigned to her, ensuring they are presentable, safe, and that things are in good working order. She gets to know the staff that she works with and enjoys building relationships with those around her.

Sue’s journey to WIU began from people who she knew who already worked at Western. They encouraged her to apply. It took her 5-6 years before she was called for an interview. At that time she was working at the Wal-Mart Vision Lab. She said that when she got the offer to work at Western, it was meant to be!

When asked what she likes most about her job, Sue shared, “I like keeping things clean and neat for the students. It’s always a good feeling to turn around and see the clean rooms. I get a lot of satisfaction from that. I like going into new areas and seeing new people. I enjoy helping others clean their areas too!”

One of Sue’s most memorable experiences was working with the Ram’s training camp, years ago. She added, “That was such a fun time for our university!”

When she is not keeping our university spotless, you will find Sue enjoying being outside, doing yard work, and especially spending time with her three grandkids!

HR salutes Sue Forman as one of our many committed Civil Service employees at WIU!
