Early Childhood Education
Scholarship Opportunities – WIU-QC students can access financial support through programs like the Great River Teacher Corps and statewide initiatives such as Golden Apple Scholars. Hands-On Classroom Experience – Students engage in tutoring, teacher-assistant roles, and observations in local schools before completing student teaching.
Access to Core Resources – QC students benefit from University-wide materials, including the Children’s Literature Examination Center and Curriculum Library, with support and access coordinated through the QC campus.
Early Learning Center – WIU-QC’s new Early Learning Center in Moline, IL, will soon provide hands-on training in early childhood education, offering practical experience in a state-of-the-art learning environment.

Meet Zachary Orr, a 2025 graduate of Western Illinois University's Public Safety Administration graduate program, who serves as chief deputy for the Pike County Sheriff's Department in Pike County, IL.

WIU to Offer Online Bachelor of Science in Information Systems
The Western Illinois University School of Computer Sciences is expanding its academic offerings with the launch of a fully online Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, beginning Spring 2026. This new program builds on the School of Computer Sciences longstanding expertise in delivering face-to-face and online instruction.
