Community Expeditions - An Initiative for Community Adventures

Based on the success of the long-running New York City Community Theatre trip, the Office of Study Abroad and Outreach is launching, Community Expeditions,  a series of new domestic and international trips designed for adults. Not only do these initiatives give you the opportunity to travel with a group but also your participation helps WIU students achieve their dreams of studying abroad. A portion of the funds collected for each program goes to support scholarships for WIU students to study abroad.

Two exciting destinations lead off our offerings:

New York City Community Theatre Trip 2018

New York Trip Join your fellow theatre enthusiasts and New York City fans on the 16th offering of the New York City Community Theatre trip!  Kim McDaniel and Tammy Honesty, Assistant Professor of Scenic Design at Kent State University, formerly of WIU, are ready to lead you on more adventures around the city during the daily optional walking tours.  Dr. Al Goldfarb, President Emeritus, WIU,  continues to provide his expertise on show selection.  Combining favorite locations and new insights, this trip is back for another round of subways, great food, and unforgettable theatre.

Visit one of the 17 megadiverse countries in the world, Ecuador!  Approximately the size of Colorado, this beautiful country possesses costal regions, tropical jungles, mountains and plains.  Because of the diverse climates, the variety of plants and animals is astounding!
