Dr. Jason Franken is a Professor of Agricultural Economics in the School of Agriculture at Western Illinois University. His current teaching duties include undergraduate courses in agribusiness management, marketing, and futures and options trading. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Jason co-advises the Agribusiness Club at WIU. His research is interdisciplinary by nature, drawing from economic, marketing, and decision sciences to understand the organization of supply channels for managing risk and adding value. Jason received his BS and MS from the University of Missouri and his PhD from the University of Illinois. Jason remains involved in his family's diversified beef and crop farm in Central Missouri. In his free time, Jason enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing and hiking/jogging.
Recipient of the 2020 Provost's Awards of Excellence in Teaching with Technology.
