WIU Dads' Weekend is Oct. 17-19

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Parents and Family Association will host Dads' Weekend Friday-Sunday, Oct. 17-19.

Dads, grandfathers, uncles or brothers are invited campus for a weekend filled with activities designed to accommodate relatives and their students.

This year's schedule includes:

Friday, Oct. 17:
• Dads' Weekend Check-In: 11 a.m.-6 p.m., University Union, Grand Ballroom lobby.
• Opening Dinner Reception Check-In: 6:20-6:30 p.m., University Union Grand Ballroom lobby. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m.
• Dads' Weekend Opening Dinner Reception with Show: 6:30 p.m. dinner seating. Reservations are required and can be made at wiu.edu/student_services/sapsc/dads_weekend/.
• BCA presents comedian Jake Johannsen: 8 p.m., University Union Grand Ballroom, tickets available at BCABringstheStars.com or at the Hainline Theatre Box Office. WIU students admitted free with valid student ID, but picking up a ticket before the show is recommended to guarantee a seat.
• Top Girl Theatre Production, 7:30 p.m., Hainline Theatre, tickets are $15 for the public, $13 for senior citizens and WIU students are admitted free with valid student identification.
• Flashlight Night at the Corn Maze, 8-10 p.m., Horn Field Campus, $5 per person.

Saturday, Oct. 18
• Fallen Soldiers 5K Run/Walk: 7:30-8:15 a.m., Spencer Student Recreation Center, $35 per person.
• Dads' Weekend Check-In: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., University Union Concourse, ground floor.
• Open Bass Tournament: 8 a.m.-2 p.m., hosted by the WIU Bass Fishing Club, Spring Lake, entry fee is $50 per two person team.
• Cooking Breakfast with Dad: 8-9:30 a.m., Knoblauch Hall, room 230, pre-paid event.
• Competitive Rocky's Two-Person Nine Hole Golf Scramble: 8:30 a.m. check-in, 9 a.m. shotgun start, Harry Mussatto Golf Course, pre-paid event, $43 per team.
• Amateur Rocky's Two-Person Nine Hole Golf Scramble: 8:30 a.m. check-in, 9 a.m. shotgun start, Harry Mussatto Golf Course, pre-paid event, $43 per team.
• High Ropes Course Experience: 9 a.m.-noon, Horn Field Campus, $15 per person. Equipment is provided.
• Chili Cook-Off Contest: 10-11:30 a.m., Knoblauch Hall, room 230, contestants bring ingredients, but cooking supplies will be provided.
• Veterans Club Baggo Tournament: Noon, Campus Recreation, outdoor venue. $10 per two person team.
• WIU Tailgating Opens: 11 a.m., Q-Lot, next to Campus Recreation.
• Chili Tasting at Tailgating: 1-2 p.m., Q-Lot, next to Campus Recreation.
• Corn Maze: 1-4 p.m., Horn Field Campus, $5 admission.
• Women's Soccer: 1 p.m., Leatherneck women take on IUPUI.
• Leatherneck Football: 3 p.m. kick-off. Hanson Field.
• Top Girl Theatre Production, 7:30 p.m., Hainline Theatre, tickets are $15 for the public, $13 for senior citizens and WIU students are admitted free with valid student identification.
• "The Expendables 3:" 8 p.m., Sandburg Theatre, University Union.

Sunday, Oct. 19
• 18-Holes of Golf: 8 a.m.-dusk, Harry Mussatto Golf Course, $25 per person, which includes cart rental.
• Lions Club Pancake Breakfast: 7 a.m.-noon, 400 W. Carroll St., First Presbyterian Church, adults $6 and children $3.
• Raquetball: noon-11 p.m., Spencer Student Recreation Center, equipment provided.
• Corn Maze: 1-4 p.m., Horn Field Campus, $5 admission.
• Open Swim and Hot Tub: 1-7 p.m., Spencer Student Recreation Center.
