Governor Appoints Lowe Mullins Trustee

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Western Illinois University Alumna and Executive Director of Philanthropy for The Art Institute of Chicago Erika Lowe Mullins, of Chicago, IL, has been appointed as a member of the WIU Board of Trustees by Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

As the Executive Director of Philanthropy for The Art Institute, Lowe Mullins leads the Major Gifts team, emphasizing the critical need to both build and maintain strong relationships while also leading with a metrics-driven mindset. She previously served The Art Institute as the Director of Philanthropy and as the Philanthropic Advisor for Major Gifts. Prior to joining The Art Institute of Chicago, Lowe Mullins fundraised with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the University of South Carolina. Lowe Mullins also served on the WIU Alumni Council for six years, ending her service in 2020.

"We are pleased that Gov. Pritzker appointed Trustee Lowe Mullins to the WIU Board of Trustees," WIU Interim President Kristi Mindrup said. "Her extensive experience, knowledge of philanthropy and previous work with the WIU Alumni Council will be an asset to the University. I look forward to working with Trustee Lowe Mullins and the entire Board of Trustees to move Western into the future."

Lowe Mullins received a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Western and a Master of Education from the University of South Carolina.
