Just Hired: Judah White
January 22, 2026
MACOMB, IL - - Meet Judah White, a graduate of Western Illinois University Sociology program, who was hired as a development coordinator for National Public Radio Illinois (NPR), a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free public broadcasting to the central Illinois community.
White secured his position through the University of Illinois Springfield assistantship program, where he is currently pursuing his master's in Communication. While the process was challenging and competitive, White stood out among his peers and made his mark.
"Once my application was selected by the people who run this program, I went through two rounds of interviews and got the opportunity to select between two organizations who liked my interviews, and I chose NPR Illinois."
He credited his time at WIU for giving him the tools he needed to succeed.
"My major taught me the importance of networking, and I was also able to learn how to sell my skills," White said.
