WIU Alumni Association Seeks New Members
February 26, 2026
MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - The Western Illinois University Alumni Association is currently accepting applications for new members.
The WIU Alumni Council is composed of 24 dedicated WIU graduates of all backgrounds, geographic locations and career fields. The Alumni Council strives to include a broad range of members which accurately reflect the student body and alumni community.
The WIU Alumni Council meets four times per year, usually on the Macomb campus, to receive updates and provide feedback to various members of the WIU community. The members represent the interests of the WIU alumni base, assist in student recruitment efforts, participate in alumni events nationwide, vote on alumni awards, support WIU financially and advocate for the university. Members are appointed to three-year terms.
"Our ideal candidate is someone who has been actively involved with the university since graduation, has given back to WIU and is looking for new avenues to serve their alma mater," WIU Alumni Council Membership Committee Chair Emily Manley (‘17) said. "Now more than ever, it is important that we ensure alumni are connected to WIU and are actively participating in securing its future. We are looking for people who bleed purple and gold!"
The love and commitment of alumni are a powerful tool for higher-ed institutions. By joining the WIU Alumni Council, graduates will be able to develop connections, give back to their alma mater, stay informed, show school pride and help current students.
