About Beu Health Center

Mission Statement

The mission of Beu Health Center is to enhance the educational process through assisting students in the modification or removal of health-related barriers to learning by providing appropriate medical services and collaborative programming.


Beu Health Center is located on the corner of Murray Street and Western Avenue. It is located across the street from Browne Hall and next to Knoblauch Hall.


Students coming to Beu may park in the Beu parking lot adjacent to the building. If the lot is full, students must park in student-approved areas for their particular parking pass or they will be ticketed by University Parking Services personnel.


These are the buses that come to Beu from 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Fridays (01-Leatherneck Express, 03-Blue, 15-Brown, 16-Maroon, 18-Central and 18-South) or


Beu Health Center is available to all students, full or part-time, who are registered and have paid tuition and fees. Spouses and domestic partners of WIU students are also eligible to use these services for a fee, payable at the time of service.

How to Make Appointments

To schedule an appointment, students may use our "Schedule an Appointment" icon, access the patient portal online, or by calling (309) 298-1888. The secure patient portal offers you convenience, allowing you to take care of your health care needs on your schedule. To login into the patient portal, use your ECOM user name and password. Phone lines are open from 7:30am-4:30pm for the purpose of making or changing appointments.

  • We will see as many unwell students as we can, but reserve the right to prioritize students who require immediate medical care and/or referral. Please be patient and feel free to contact the appointment line again should your symptoms change and become more problematic. Students can visit other local care providers in the community, but should contact WIU's Student Insurance Office beforehand (309) 298-1882, to determine the cost of going to outside providers without referral.
