Professional Activities

  • William Anderson, political science, presented "Obama's African Policy:  Which Lens?" at the International Studies Association meetings held in St. Louis, MO, Nov. 10-14, 2011.  Anderson's co-presenter was Emmanuel Balogun, graduate student in political science.
  • Vincent Auger, political science, presented "The 'Responsibility to Protect' After Libya" at the International Studies Association meetings held in St. Louis, MO, Nov. 10-14, 2011
  • Fred Iutzi, IIRA, presented "Biomass Energy: Opportunities for Sustainability, Service, & Teaching" at the Sustainable Universities and College Symposium, organized by the Illinois Green Governments Coordinating Council and the Office of Governor Pat Quinn, Normal, IL, Oct. 2011.
  • Xiaolan Liu, IIRA, along with Michael Farmer and Sergio Capareda of Texas Tech University, authored the chapter, "The Economic Feasibility of Electricity Generation from Biomass on the South Plains of Texas" in the new book, The Economics of Alternative Energy Sources and Globalization (Bentham Science Publishers, 2011).
  • Kathryn Pohlpeter and Ellen Ehrgott, communication sciences and disorders, presented, "Analysis of Undergraduate Clinical Particpation on Graduate Clinician Preparedness" at the  2011 American Speech Language Hearing Convention in San Diego, CA on Nov.18.  
  • Dr. Melanie Rawlins, Professor Emeritus and former Chair of the Department of counselor education received the Robert J. Nejedlo Distinguished Leadership Award from the Illinois Counseling Association (ICA) on Nov. 11, 2011.
