RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful applicant will teach a range of mathematics courses for the graduate program, the major, and in general education; conduct research leading to publication; and engage in service.

THE DEPARTMENT:The department has more than 30 faculty members with teaching and research interests in many areas of pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education. The faculty has a strong commitment to undergraduate students. The department offers two undergraduate degree options, the B.S. in mathematics and the B.S. in mathematics-teaching education. Additionally, mathematics courses are offered supporting the pre-engineering program and the mathematics area of concentration in elementary/middle school education. The department offers a new professional master’s degree program with a variety of courses in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and the teaching of mathematics.

The Physical Sciences Library, the Music Library, the Curriculum Library, and the Quad Cities campus library are integral parts of the University's system that provides full service to students, faculty, and staff.
