MACOMB, IL – Sherrard High School senior Thaddius Goldner, of Sherrard, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

At WIU, Goldner said he plans to major in music business and would like to join WIU's choral ensembles.

Goldner said he chose Western because of its size and location and because it offered his major.

"Western seems like a really nice school to receive an affordable education," he said.

In high school, Goldner participated in the choral and drama programs and in the jazz band.
