MACOMB, IL -- Andy Daniels, construction project coordinator II, has been named the Western Illinois University Al & Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for November.

Daniels, who was hired in December 2008 as a construction project coordinator I, was reclassified to his current position in May 2011.
According to his nominators, Daniels is "always looking for a better way to accomplish the task at hand."

"Each project is different, and he does very well in learning the requirements in making sure the projects are successfully completed. As the project manager for the Corbin and Olson halls remodel, Andy did a great job in moving the project forward despite some difficult situations," his nominators added.

In addition to the residence halls project, Daniels designed and oversaw the project to remodel offices and classrooms for the nursing program.

"All projects that Andy oversees are to better the campus for students and staff. He keeps this in mind and does his best to get projects completed in a timely fashion and under budget," his nominators said.

In August 2010, the Goldfarbs established an endowment to permanently fund the University's Civil Service Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year awards. The Goldfarb endowment is used to fund a $100 award for the recipient of the Civil Service Employee of the Month, as well as a plaque and a $500 stipend for the Civil Service Employee of the Year.

Western faculty, staff and administrators, as well as community members, wishing to nominate a civil service employee for this monthly recognition should contact Civil Service Employees Council (CSEC) Public Relations Representative Wendi Mattson at WK-Mattson@wiu.edu.
