Communication Speaker to Deliver Annual Wayne N. Thompson Scholar Lecture March 25

MACOMB – The Western Illinois University Department of Communication will present the 23rd annual Wayne N. Thompson Scholar Lecture by Purdue University Professor Patrice Buzzanell on Monday, March 25.

Buzzanell will discuss the impact of gender on careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) during her speech, "Cultivating Career Aspirations in STEM," which will run from 5–6 p.m. in the Sandburg Theatre in the University Union. A reception will follow.

Buzzanell is a professor of communication in the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University. She has published more than 50 journal articles, written three books and presented more than 200 papers at national and international conferences.

Her work in organizational communication and gender is internationally recognized.
