MACOMB, IL – Lincoln-Way East High School senior Sarah Lawrence, of Mokena, IL, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which covers four years of tuition, fees and a residence hall room at the school.

High school students with an ACT score of 32 or higher and a grade point average of 3.5 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Lawrence said she expects to major in law enforcement and justice administration (LEJA) at Western.

"Even if a prospective student is not looking to major in LEJA, which I would highly recommend Western for, WIU is still a great place to have the college experience. The buildings are beautiful, the grounds well taken care of, and an overall, balanced education can be attained," Lawrence said.

At Western, Lawrence said she hopes to participate in creative writing, theater or art and any LEJA-related organizations.

In high school, Lawrence participated in Calliope, her high school's creative writing club.
