Boudreau to Speak at WIU Friday

MACOMB, IL - Assistant Professor of Economics James Boudreau, of the University of Texas Pan American, will deliver a two-part talk Friday, Nov. 8 on the topic of matching markets as part of the Western Illinois University Department of Economics and Decision Sciences' 2013-2014 Seminar Series.

The event will take place in Stipes Hall, room 217, from 3 - 4:15 p.m. In the first 30 minutes, Boudreau will give a popular talk that introduces matching and discusses contributions of (2012 economics Nobel
Prize winners) Shapley and Roth to the field. He will then deliver a brief technical talk on matching.

Boudreau is an expert on matching markets and other areas of microeconomic theory. His research has been published in prestigious economics journals such as Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Economics Letters, Journal of Public Economic Theory and Mathematical Social Sciences.

The seminar series is sponsored by the Department of Economics and Decision Sciences, the Visiting Lecturer Committee and the WIU College of Business and Technology.
