MACOMB, IL – A Western Illinois University graduate student was recently named the 2013 winner of the Illinois State Music Teachers Association (ISMTA) Collegiate Piano Competition in Chicago.

Yunhee Kim, of South Korea, a student in the Master of Music Piano Performance Program, won the competition Nov. 2.

WIU Alumna Sora Park, who received her master's degree in music in 2011, was named the winner of the University of Missouri-Kansas City Concerto Competition. The win means she will perform with the Samuel Barber Piano Concerto with the UMKC Orchestra during the Spring 2014 semester.

Park is currently a doctoral student in piano performance at UMKC.
