Occasion to Remember

MACOMB, IL --What's the perfect way to say "I do?" Western Illinois University's family and consumer sciences department will showcase a wedding from start to finish at the 21st annual "An Occasion to Remember" Sunday, April 21 in the WIU Union Grand Ballroom.

"An Occasion to Remember" will feature merchandise from several area vendors and spotlight bridal, prom and all occasion clothing. A Bridal Expo will be held from noon-12:30 p.m., followed by a 12:30-1:30 p.m. luncheon. The fashion show begins at 1:30 p.m. and will showcase evening/formal/prom wear, bridal gowns and casual wear. A special wedding seminar will be held from 2:30-3:30 p.m. while the final Bridal Expo will be held from 3:30-4 p.m.

Tickets for the luncheon, fashion show and expo are $12 per person; tickets for the fashion show and expo only are $6 for adults and $4 for WIU students (with ID). Tickets may be purchased at Citizens National Bank, the Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce and the department of family and consumer sciences (FCS) in Knoblauch Hall.

The gala is organized and produced by WIU fashion merchandising students, as well as other FCS majors, under the direction of Susan Creasey, assistant professor. The event is sponsored by Radio Macomb - K100, WLRB, WLMD.
