MOLINE, IL -- Staying true to its mission of improving the quality of life for its members, Modern Woodmen of America has made a $75,000 commitment for Phase II of the Western Illinois University-Quad Cities Riverfront campus. In November 2009, Modern Woodmen made a $75,000 commitment for an electronic classroom for Phase I of the WIU-QC Riverfront Campus.

"Our investment in the WIU-QC Riverfront campus is to help build a better community in the Quad Cities," said Modern Woodmen President Kenny Massey. "This project will help provide affordable public education to all residents of the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. We wish WIU continued success with the development of the campus."

Modern Woodmen has been a leading contributor to a number of philanthropic projects in the Quad Cities area in western Illinois and eastern Iowa. The organization also supports communities and volunteerism throughout the United States through its local chapters and youth service clubs.

"Modern Woodmen has been an outstanding corporate partner. We are so appreciative of their commitment to the Western Illinois University-Quad Cities campus and our region," said WIU President Jack Thomas.

As a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society, Modern Woodmen sells life insurance, annuity and investment* products not to benefit stockholders, but to improve the quality of life of its stakeholders – members, their families and their communities. This is accomplished through social, charitable and volunteer activities. In 2013, Modern Woodmen and its members provided more than $20 million and nearly 507,600 volunteer hours for community projects nationwide.

"Much of our success is because of partners like Modern Woodmen and their dedication to higher education and their community," said Vice President for the Quad Cities and Planning Joe Rives. "Again, we thank Modern Woodmen of America for this most recent donation."

Founded in 1883, Modern Woodmen touches lives and secures futures. The fraternal financial services organization offers financial products and fraternal member benefits to individuals and families throughout the United States.
