Management Professor Emeritus Lewis Wall Passes Away

MACOMB, IL -- A memorial service for Western Illinois University Management Professor Emeritus Lewis Wall will be held later this summer. Wall, 88, passed away June 11 in Missouri.

Wall retired from WIU in 1987. During his tenure at Western, he was a faculty member in the Department of Information Management and Decision Sciences for 19 years. He served as department chair from 1972-1975 and again from 1978 until his retirement.

He authored articles in professional publications including data processing curriculum guides, a monograph and two chapters in yearbooks. He received several grants for research and teaching from the U.S. Department of Education, the Illinois Board of Higher Education and the American Association of Junior Colleges.

In May 2007, Wall's son, Larry, who served as associate dean of Western's College of Business and Technology until 2009, established the Dr. Lewis E. Wall Scholarship at WIU to recognize the elder Wall.
