MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University Professor of Economics Steven Rock was recently elected to serve as vice president for finance on the board of directors for the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

"It is a great honor and responsibility to provide oversight for the financial operation of the Society," Rock said. "The books are in great shape, and I will work with the staff to continue its financial health. While these are challenging times in higher education, the promotion of academic excellence needs to be a priority."

Prior to this role at the national level, Rock served as an active leader of Phi Kappa Phi at the local level. He has served as president, chair of the Scholarship and Graduate Fellowship Committee. He currently serves as the membership coordinator for the Western Illinois University chapter.

Rock will serve a two-year term as vice president for finance.
