Redmond Awarded Centennial Honors Scholarship

MACOMB, IL – Batavia High School senior Patrick Redmond, of Batavia, IL, has been selected for Western Illinois University's Centennial Honors Scholarship, which awards $10,000 per year to academically high-achieving students.

High school students with an ACT score of 30 or higher and a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for the scholarship.

Redmond said he expects to major in law enforcement and justice administration (LEJA) at Western.

"Western is the best university for my major, at a reasonable price, and the LEJA major is highly regarded," he said. "I also like Western for the many opportunities available for internships in my chosen career."

At Western, Redmond would like to be part of the University's intramural running club.

After graduation, Redmond would like to work for the CIA.

In high school, Redmond participated in cross country, track and was active in his church.
