MACOMB, IL – Three Western Illinois University music business majors have been awarded prestigious scholarships by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM).

Senior Chas Eyster, of Peoria, IL; junior Nick Kudrys, of Evergreen Park, IL, and sophomore Tad Goldner, of Sherrard, IL, were each awarded a $600 President's Innovation Award from NAMM to cover their travel expenses for the organization's annual show in Anaheim, CA in January.

NAMM awarded 73 of the president's awards in an effort to support college students pursing careers in the music-products industry.

"The fact that three student recipients out of the 73 awarded were from WIU is a great achievement," said Associate Professor Courtney Blankenship, director of music business at Western. "I plan to take a total of 14 students to the NAMM show in January."

The annual NAMM show draws over 90,000 music industry professionals and is only open to the public for last day of the four-day show.
