Corbett Named President-Elect of ACCA

MACOMB, IL - Western Illinois University Counseling Center Associate Director Chris Corbett has been named president-elect of the American College Counseling Association (ACCA).

The professional organization represents more than 1,400 mental health professionals employed in university and college counseling settings across the country. During his year as president-elect, Corbett will work closely with the current ACCA president to learn the duties and responsibilities before he takes over as president in 2016.

"We are delighted that one of our very own, Dr. Chris Corbett, was elected as the future president and leader of university/college counselors across the country," said WIU Counseling Center Director Jim DiTulio. "He will do an outstanding job representing our profession and fine University on a national stage."

Corbett is a licensed psychologist who has worked at the University Counseling Center since 2012. Prior to coming to Western, he worked at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and the University of South Carolina.

He was awarded a doctor of psychology degree from Loma Linda University in California.
